The affirmation of positive thinking about one’s self value can motivate healthy behavior patterns. Studies have measured the success of positive-thinkers, and found that those who believe they can change a destructive behavior are more likely to hold to and demonstrate constructive behavior. These individuals are more successful than persons who project low self-esteem about themselves. Behavioral and motivational therapy can be received through many therapeutic ways. Some of us respond to encouraging words from others, some read and listen to media conduits that inspire holistic growth, and others affirm self-value through proclamations of change. Affirming one’s self-value through “proclamations of change” has proven to be preeminent in setting one’s course of movement into a new existence.
The healthcare professionals practice music therapy to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages. Music therapy has the holistic ability to improve the quality of life for persons who are diagnosed with terminal illness, children and adults with disabilities, illnesses or suffering with addictive behaviors. Music itself is considered to be the purest form of the artistic expression. Where words leave off, music begins. Music alone has the ability to penetrate our hearts and is a powerful universal language that crosses cultural and social barriers.
Acknowledging our most vital needs that holistically pertain to our spirit, soul, and body are the most important components in recovery. Recognizing our powerlessness, and acknowledging the need for a Greater Power, is an essential key to living a life of completeness. Pursuing Wholeness is a recovery program that offers empowering tools to relieve mental suffering and help to develop and cultivate a holistic consciousness in the lives of those pursuing wholeness. Our program combines the Twelve Steps-A Spiritual Journey Guide, Setting Boundaries, Relapse Prevention, and a course on Co-Dependency. The time line for the program is a 12-month commitment. These holistic courses, in conjunction with the practice of self-value affirmation and musical therapy will bring healing and mental solace to individuals demoralized by addictive behaviors.
Each holistic session is 1.5 hours long, which encompasses 30 minutes of music with a holistic artist and self-value affirmation. The attendees will then break-up into groups to attend a 45-minute instructional teaching. The groups will then come back together for a close-out song of celebration in recovery. The motivation director will be responsible for leading the attendees into singing affirming proclamations to walk free of destructive additive behaviors.
The need to develop a balanced life is realized by all. Those recovering from additive behaviors, and its negative effect on the nucleus acumens or “pleasure centers” of the brain, need a higher consciousness encounter that will bring visualization of a new person into a new sound existence. This awareness will unveil their potential, and begin to bring to light their self-capacity to change. The therapeutic tools of music and self-value affirmation are a powerhouse that will deeply transform the soul and spirit of the individuals that desire healing. These holistic encounters will amend self-broken images into images of liberty, peace and the reality of a new life free from addiction
